Duck Cupcakes

I baked these duck cupcakes for a Memorial Day Party. Ingredients include marshmallows (for the tail), doughnut holes (for the head), orange Tootsie rolls (for the beak and feet), mini chocolate candies (for the eyes), and icing. I couldn't find mini chocolate candies for the eyes, so I used mini chocolate chips. The recipe comes from What's New, Cupcake?: Ingeniously Simple Designs for Every Occasion by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson.

Cake decorating

I just took a four week cake decorating course at Michael's. Here is my attempt at layering, icing, and decorating a cake. I used butter pecan cake mix and a layer of chocolate pudding.
Thank you to my fiance and his friends for agreeing to be my guinea pigs and tasting this cake.
